Rented this cabin as part of our first trip to Tennessee for my parents and I. The views were wonderful, as well as secluded and quiet. The cabin was as described on the website. The cabin is close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is also within reasonable driving distance, which I would recommend visiting as much as possible if staying in the area for a few days.
I enjoyed using the pool table with my family and taking a rest in the cabin after a day out exploring the surrounding areas. Wi-Fi was available and didn't have any issues with streaming during the evenings. As someone else had mentioned, the beds are springy and loud, but I got used to it. Although there is a notice provided beforehand that bears live around the area, I didn't see any during my stay.
The road up to the cabin can be difficult as there are a lack of lights and the road gets narrower and has some blind curves closer to the cabin, I recommend getting there before it gets too dark, especially on the first night. While the Waze app was recommended, I did not have any issues using Google Maps.
Overall, I would recommend this cabin. I would like to visit one of the other cabins offered by Stacia and Larry when I come back to Tennessee for another trip.

This was such a great cabin, it was very clean, well maintained, cozy, the beds were very comfortable, the hot tub was great, the views were breathtaking and the hosts were great with checking in to make sure all was okay. My only advice, please just take your time when navigating the roads to get to the cabin. It is easy to locate, but there are a few windy roads/blind curves that other drivers on the road were not so courteous about (speeding/tailgating.) Just give yourself a few extra minutes and you will be just fine.

We had the best girls trip to Over the Mountain cabin in early October 2025. The cabin was the perfect spot for our getaway. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises and comfortable porch-sitting weather, perfect for making memories!

Pure relaxation from start to finish! 🌄 Watching the sunrise from the back deck was absolutely breathtaking, and the mountain views were simply magnificent. Our family time in this cozy cabin was exactly what we needed to recharge and reconnect. We loved fishing at the pond, had a blast playing pool, and ending the evenings in the hot tub was the perfect way to wind down. 🛶🎱✨ The memories we made here will be cherished forever. We’re already looking forward to coming back again!

Stayed for a week and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. The upstairs was very enjoyable while we were there. (we were motorcycle riding most of the time). I do actually have one complaint, the couch is very uncomfortable to sit on. The cushions would not stay on. OVERALL, the place was very relaxing. Great place to stay to ride motorcycles.

Location was perfect for a mountain getaway for the family, peaceful location with a great deck and views of the mountains. We had a need for 3 beds so used both bedrooms and the pullout couch in the game room. There are some other houses nearby, but it was very quiet and felt private due to all of the trees around the property. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful cabin with a stunning view of the mountains. This was truly my happy place. We enjoyed eating our meals outside in the middle of nature. Even though there were cabins nearby, we felt like we had that part of the mountain to ourselves. I plan on coming back again!

We've stayed in many Smokies cabins, and this one has one of the best, if not THE best, views of the mountains and sunrises. The cabin was quiet, comfortable, and clean. We liked the fact that the hot tub is enclosed in a screened porch, and we loved the upstairs screened porch - it was a great get-away area from the rest of the cabin. There was easy access for loading and unloading luggage (no steps to navigate). Although we were too busy hiking to use it, the game area is well-furnished. Another couple stayed with us for part of our time there, and it worked well having 4 of us in the cabin. Larry & Stacia were easy to contact and very welcoming and responsive. We highly recommend Over the Mountain cabin and would definitely stay there again!

First time visiting the Great Smoky Mountains. We took our granddaughter for our first vacation together without the parents.
Staying at this beautiful cabin enhanced our stay. Everything was perfect and the mountain views is awesome. Cabin very clean and comfortable. Would stay here again if in area.

As we are early planners for any vacation experience away from home we started months ahead. As we have been cabin renters in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area for over 20 years doing summer rentals with grandkids and late October rentals for us we wanted a change to a quiet area. Went through hundreds of options but finally found Over the Mountain to be exactly what we were looking for to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary . We love the Wears Valley area, Townsend and Cades Cove. The location gave us all while still within close proximity to restaurants and entertainment in Pigeon Forge. The cabin had a beautiful view and outside deck opportunity to view from many angles. The on line rental process website was professionally handled and relatively easy to manage for a non conversant media person like me. The host were excellent in assisting us in our planning and made our stay more rewarding. Our Over The Mountains cabin stay was a great, relaxing experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Over the Mountain cabin! It was clean and had everything we needed. Amazing views and location! Close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The hosts were easy to reach and were nice. They allowed us to check in early, which was so helpful because we had two infants with us.

This cabin is beautiful, up the mountain and out of the way from all the hustle and bustle but still close enough that trips into town don’t take long. Lots of activities for the kids in the game loft. Love that there’s TV’s in every room too. WiFi was spotty bc it’s the mountains but that’s out of anyone’s control. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

This was a fantastic location and an outstanding cabin. The views are spectacular! You feel like you are on top of the world. You can choose to join in with the crowds or be isolated and enjoy the beauty of the mountains.
The fireplace was my favorite and the pool table, and the loft wins second place!

My husband and I stayed at this cabin and it was so perfect! We really enjoyed our stay at it and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling with 2-4 guests. It feels remote with having the benefit of being close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. I even saw a bear at the cabin walking by which made my day. Everything was so great and I wish we had stayed longer just to spend more time at the cabin. The minor things for a future booker to note is the following: 1. while the beds are comfortable enough, they are extremely squeaky. Like EXTREMELY squeaky. Even just rolling over. We tested them both and both were terrible. They need to update the mattresses in this wonderful cabin. 2. We were just two people and I could foresee a family having issues with limited plates, cups, etc. They need to refresh this area with just a few additions and if they don't prepare to bring some disposable plates/cups. 3. They didn't have a great board game variety upstairs. I'd recommend bringing your own. Otherwise great stay, beautiful, clean, cabin. I would return and recommend.

What a beautiful escape from the city. You are away from everything but also not far from everything. My family truly enjoyed our stay here. The kids loved the game room, everyone enjoyed the hot tub and our view was amazing! Anything we needed was there and even though we didn’t need our hosts for anything it was clear they were there if we did. I would absolutely stay here again!
