Though the beds are comfy, you may just want to get up early anyway, to view the magical display of the ever-changing, ethereal mist as it appears to rise from out of the mountains.
While rocking on the large front porch with your coffee, tea or "adult libation", enjoy too, the majestic sunsets as the fireflies dance into the summer night. Or have fun roasting marshmallows by the campfire pit outside! The fall scenery is also breathtaking.
Our cabin is newer and cozy. Exceptional detail is paid to cleanliness, thanks to our phenomenal housekeeper, whom we treasure, as she leaves no stone unturned!!
We're located near the top of the mountain with amazing views, >800 sq feet, 2 bed/2 bath, sleeps 6 with the comfortable queen pullout couch. Queen beds are also in both bedrooms. Extra blankets, pillows and throws provided.
The open-concept living area has 15 ft- high cedar ceilings, hardwood floors, a gas fireplace, books to cozy up with, also board games, puzzles and brochures.
Views from every room. Central heat/AC. Exceptionally equipped kitchen with spices, coffee maker and filters, crockpot, Brita water filter, dishwasher, dishes, pots, pans, and bakeware.
Front porch extends the width of the cabin. Gas BBQ plus 4 rocking chairs. 7 camp chairs provided for firepit.
Some nearby activities and points of interest are the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the John Campbell Folk School, the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Lake Santeetlah, Lake Hiawassee, The Biltmore, the Saturday Morning Market in downtown Murphy, and the Smoky Mountain Railroad, for starters...
Enjoy hiking, biking, zip lining, or boating and swimming in the beautiful blue-green lakes nearby, white-water rafting, tubing, gem-mining, golfing, horseback riding, fishing, shopping, summer and fall festivals, even winter skiing and snow tubing.
The Murphy area offers some of the best trout, bass, walleye and striper fishing in the southeast. Excellent trout fishing can be found in the Valley River only 2.5 miles from the cabin.
The area is renowned for its fall foliage, and has been compared to New England as its colors unfold in autumn. The cabin will accommodate couples or families.
Family-owned and loved, we hope you will enjoy our "Woodland Mist" cabin as much as we do!

We had a great stay! Cabin was clean. Very quiet and peaceful. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

We had a great stay at the cabin! Loved the central location to the Smoky Mtn National Park/Pigeon forge/Chattanooga/and Pisgah National Forrest. Plenty of room and space for the 4 of us, and amazing views every morning having coffee on the front porch. Would definitely return.

It was secluded and very quiet -- great view from the front porch. The kitchen had *everything*. The washer/dryer worked fine and was well-supplied. Good water flow in both showers. Good internet and Wi-Fi. It's a steep gravel road, but no problem for our car.

Wonderful home away from home during our extended weekend at the John C. Campbell Folk School. Views are breathtaking; cabin is very clean and well stocked; owners are great communicators. Books to read, condiments & spices in cabinet, all the required kitchen accessories, and Dish TV if you need it! Water pressure is nice and strong and there is a compact washer & dryer in hall closet. This was a much needed time away from life up north, and Dinah’s cabin was the perfect setting to unwind and relax. Murphy is a quaint little town; try the Smoky Mountain BBQ (brisket is amazing)! Ingles grocery store is much like a Publix / ShopRite / Stop and Shop. This cabin is central to everything South Western North Carolina has to offer. We hope to return in the future for some white water rafting and nature activities.

This cabin is beyond amazing! Beautifully decorated and so clean. Great view of mountains from it. Dinah the owner was so helpful and quickly responded when we reached out to her. We fell in love with the little town, Murphy! So many good places to eat. Trails for hiking close by. Julie’s Place was our favorite restaurant. We lucked out and there was a spring art festival going on in Murphy. We will be back. In fact already booked for a fall trip to this cabin. Dinah even went above and beyond and had flowers, a card and Hershey kisses in the shape of “20” for our anniversary. Homey, quaint and full of love with this cabin. Highly recommend this sweet cabin!!!

Property manager was helpful with identifying local activities to do and responsive to questions. The cabin sits at about 2100ft elevation. There is a great stone propane fireplace that also has a controlled timer to ease the mind. Decorations throughout the cabin are fitting to the environment, especially Christmas. We were also able to attend a Christmas service at the church, Marble Spring Baptist, located at the bottom of the mountain. A pleasant church to attend.

I rented this property as my parent’s anniversary present. They absolutely loved it and the host even left some roses and a sweet note. My parents were thrilled with the cabin and were amazed by the beautiful views! Highly recommended to visit this place for yourself or as a gift for someone else.

My husband and I stayed here with our three year old daughter and it was the perfect size. The cabin has everything you need and beautiful Mountain View’s. It’s close to multiple different places. The incline up to the cabin is quite steep but we made it up just fine in our car. Please be careful with your little ones because there are drop offs because you’re on a mountain. We had a great stay, I hope we get to go again some time in the future.

Nothing less that an amazing stay. Small hiccups out of anyone's control were handled with the greatest urgency. This property owner bends over backwards, does flips, and sticks the landing to make her guests happy. We can't say thank you enough for the memories made. We will definitely be back.
