We are Neil and Lisa Faust. We live in a small town north of Birmingham, Alabama called Oneonta. Neil is a cattle farmer and I taught elementary school for 26 years before starting my current job as a UniServ Director for the Alabama Education Association. We bought our first vacation rental in 2000 in Orange Beach Alabama. We bought and sold several condos until Hurricane Ivan hit the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area in the fall of 2004. After 8 months of the condo being uninhabitable due to the hurricane, we decided to sell and purchase a cabin in the Smoky Mountains. We bought Away From It All in June of 2005 and added A Hidden Paradise the next year. We visit the cabins regularly and stay in them, so we try to furnish them and add little extras that make them feel like a home away from home for our guests. We enjoy sharing our cabins with you.
