Meet & Contact Patrick Greany

Hi!

I'm a retired research biologist (entomologist) for the USDA Agricultural Research Service and Courtesy Professor of Entomology at the University of Florida.  I've always appreciated nature and enjoy the incredible scenery in the vicinity of Misty Laurel, along with the wildlife, including deer, racoons, wild turkeys, bobcats, bear, and many species of birds!  My wife, Jo, is a retired faculty member from Florida State Unversity Dept. of Modern Languages, and is fluent in Spanish and French and can assist guests who prefer to use either of these languages instead of English.  Because we can't spend full time at the cabin, we're happy to share its use with other folks who also enjoy nature and the many recreational opportunities available there.

Misty Laurel is located near a wide array of opportunities for hiking, fishing, boating and rafting and other outdoor activities and adventures.  It's a great place to be anytime of year, but especially when it's hot and humid in the "Low Country" during the summer!  We're pleased to host visitors at our cabin at beautiful Lake Nantahala, in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

This will be our 11th year accommodating guests at Misty Laurel.  We have met some great people over the years and are hopeful you'll be among our guests too!
