Beautiful Construction 2300 square ft. home. On Little Pigeon River.
When you look at this magnificent property you will be as amazed as we were at this little piece of heaven. There is a soothing respite that is created by being situated DIRECTLY on the Little Pigeon River. There are very few properties in all of Gatlinburg that offer full access for the fisherman, the swimmer or the person that wants to sit on a rock and be taken to a place of total relaxation. Even for the grumpiest of souls, there is something totally relaxing when you crack your window and can hear the rush of the water over the rocks all night long. Imagine being able to catch a beautiful trout while your kids have played in the river all day and you have not had to leave your front porch. The Little Pigeon River is your backyard! So, relax and enjoy the soothing sounds of the rushing water. It is an easy10 minute stroll to the Center of the Gatlinburg Strip. The main sidewalk that goes completely through town is a five minute LEVEL walk from this house. You have fabulous parking and you do not have to climb a steep mountain road to arrive at your destination. You have all the feel of the mountains, the conveniences of a motel and you have the luxury of being in an individual home. It does not get any better than that. We built this house with our personal families in mind. The house has a second master on the main level so you can bring your grandparents or older family members and they do not have to maneuver many stairs. It is perfect in the fact that in this age of technology you will be amazed how quickly children are drawn to the magic of the river. They will want to play all day long. Which gives you the time to relax which is what a vacation is all about.
This home includes 4 very spacious Bedrooms (5 including the Den w/sleeper sofa), 4 Baths. All Bedrooms have Flat Screen T.V.'s and Wifi throughout the house. One of the 4 Bedrooms is located on the 1st floor with a Queen Bed and adjoining Bath. Upstairs, you will find the remaining Bedrooms, The King Bedroom has a private 4 piece Bath. The 2 Queen Bedrooms have beautiful views of the river. The Den has a Full Sleeper Sofa and a Flat Screen T.V. with PS3 gaming system. The Kitchen is supplied with everything needed to cook meals or snacks. The large Farmhouse Dining Table will seat 8 comfortably. Relax in the Large Living Room to watch your favorite Movie or Sporting Event or wander onto the Porch to simply sit, relax and visit. Enjoy the soothing sounds of the Little Pigeon River. We actually have 4 or 5 Ducks that like to be fed, so save some crackers or breadcrumbs for them.
We have added an easy Boulder Access path down to the river. It is located at the foot of the stairs to the left. The River is stocked once a week with Trout, so if you like to fish…pack your fishing rod. You will need to purchase a fishing license.

We loved the cabin!!! It was very clean and had all we needed to make our stay the perfect vacation. The little river running behind it made for relaxing and peaceful early morning coffee!! We also had a visit from one of the resident bears!!! AWESOME!
I can't say enough about the location and overall experience we had at this property. Plenty of room and comfy beds. We enjoyed being so close to town, but still had the quiet, private stay. Very clean. We hope to return.
This property was exactly as described and exactly as shown in the pictures. Myra was very responsive to questions. The home was easy to access when we arrived and the directions for leaving were easy to follow. The home was clean and equipped with everything we needed (there could have been soap/shower gel provided in the showers). The location was perfect - just off the main road, however, very quiet. The back deck was great! There was plenty of parking. Our group of eight adults were very comfortable. Everyone had their own bedroom AND bathroom! Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your home! Highly recommend if you are looking for a large vacation home to rent.
My husband, 2 adult children, daughter-in-law, and 2 grandchildren stayed 4 nights. The highlight for us was seeing a bear in the front yard right under the deck! We went to Cades Cove, Newfound Gap, hiked up Clingman's Dome, Oconaluftee Indian Village, saw "Unto These Hills", drove the Roaring Fork Motor Trail, hiked to Grotto Falls, took the Sky Lift up the mountain, and played in the river. However, my husband said the highlight for him was the house. It was PERFECT! The housekeeper was just leaving as we got there and he was so helpful with restaurant information. Thank you, Myra, for a great vacation.
My family and I enjoyed the beautiful home. The kids loved fishing in the river. It was very nice to have early morning coffee on the back porch listening to the water rushing across the rock, so serene. The house was beautiful and clean. The home provided all of our necessities for the week. The only issue was the slow internet. I would definitely recommend booking this home.
This house is awesome! We had 5 adults-3 children and there was plenty of room for all. The location was great, decor was perfect and our boys loved the river being in the back yard! We all agreed that we would book this house for our future Gatlinburg vacations!
This is a very nice house located steps away from a beautiful stream. It is close enough to walk to downtown Gatlinburg but far enough away so you don't hear the noise of the crowds or traffic when you're sitting outside on the deck. Conveniently located so it was an easy drive to hiking trails, white water rafting and various other day trips. The house is well kept and easily accomodated our two families (10 people in total). During the week we had a few questioms for the owner who quickly provided answers. I highly recommend this property for those looking to spend time in the Gatlinburg area.
The pictures do not show the property well. It was a pleasant surprise walking into this house and seeing something better then what I was expecting. The home is wonderful, the lower level is big and open making it a great place for our family to get together and enjoy each other's company without feeling closed in. The bedrooms were well designed with access to bathrooms. I cannot say enough good things about the house and we are planning on renting again next year for our family gathering. The walk to Gatlinburg was as described with it being one mile from the home to Ober Gatlinburg. The back porch over-looking the river was relaxing and beautiful. The only thing it is missing is a firepit to sit by next to the river. There was plenty of parking for our vehicles, and room for the grandchildren to play since the road it is on is not traveled. I would recommend this home to anyone unless you have difficulty climbing stairs.
Our family has rented many different cabins in the Smokies over the years, and we have never rented the same cabin twice. Although we have never had a bad experience, we were always looking for something even better... until now. This cabin has it all. The layout of the cabin is great, and the furnishings and decor are comfortable and attractive. The cabin looks even better than pictured. At first, my kids were disappointed that there is no hot tub, but the river more than made up for it. The kids loved playing by the river and we all loved listening to the river from the cabin. Our family enjoys spending most of our time at the National Park, which is such a short drive from this cabin. Groceries are also nearby at Food City. We walked into town a couple of times - which was probably faster than driving with all the traffic and the challenges of parking. The owner is great to work with, and always very quick to respond. We would highly recommend renting this cabin!
The experience we had with this cabin far surpassed our expectations. The cabin has an incredible location: close to town, on the river, easy to get to. The river was so much fun for my husband and my children. He was able to walk out the back and fish while the kids played for hours in the river. The cabin was immaculate yet extremely comfortable. It felt like I was home the entire time our family was there. I would recommend this cabin to anyone and would love to return to the cabin. Thank you for an amazing experience!!
My family of 4 and my in-laws stayed at A River's Edge over Christmas. It was a pleasant surprise to see that the owner had put up a Christmas tree and holiday decorations. We usually bring our own small tree, but it was not needed. The kids especially liked playing near the river and looking for rocks and driftwood. The home was very cozy with the leather furniture (plenty of seating) and the gas log fireplace. Although it isn't too far to walk to the heart of town, we drove all of the times because my in-laws were unable to walk that far. I would say its a good 1/2 mile walk to where all of the candy stores and souvenir shops are. We will definitely be staying at the house again. We would really like to come during the summer so that we can let the kids fish and swim in the river. A very pleasant experience and wonderful Christmas for sure!
My family of 8 stayed in Myra's beautiful home a few days before Christmas. The home was so charming we all loved it. I'm a designer so I really appreciated her knack for design. Her christmas tree was perfect! The furniture and beds were extremely comfortable too! And it's an easy walk to the main strip which is why we chose this home. Gatlinburg is beautiful this time of year!
We were in town for the Christmas Parade which we have done many times. Never have we stayed in such a lovely home. My husband and I took the downstairs bedroom since we are early risers. That left the upstairs for our kids their spouses and our grandson to sleep in. Loved the stream and the short walk to town. We would also like to thank Myra for always being so prompt in returning our emails. We also appreciate that she allowed us into the house early when she found out we were already in town. Will definitely be back!
