This large log construction will amaze you from the moment you pull up in the driveway of the large private lot. With an absolutely spectacular view of the Greenbriar Pinnacle and the Smoky Mountains and all the amenities you could need, this lodge welcomes you to come on in, relax, and enjoy the best vacation home ever. With six bedrooms (sleeps 18, or 26 if using the four sofa beds), six and a half bath, large kitchen and dining area, three expansive common areas, and a large yard, there is ample space for a large (or small) group to unwind and enjoy the scenery and each others company, while having enough private space.
The massive log structure (5850 sqft) really captures the feel of what a Smoky Mountain vacation should be. You enjoy the cozy atmosphere of staying in a true log cabin complete with a stone fireplace and wood floors. Yet you are surrounded by impressive luxury and the extra touches that make you feel you chose the right home for your vacation. The large log post-and-beam construction throughout the cabin emphasizes the massive structure and adds to the rustic feel throughout. The cabin has granite countertops, shower doors, and Venetian bronze hardware in all six and a half bathrooms. In the evening, inside the lodge, there are nine flat-screen TVs with all major entertainment and sports channels, a large cinema room with a wet bar, two arcade machines, and a pool table. Outside, you can enjoy the eight-person hot tub on the deck or sit and gaze into the fire at the beautiful, custom-built firepit with new rustic wooden benches around it.
We are a married couple who have been doing high-end vacation rentals for years. We know the importance that the place you stay in feels like a home away from home. We try to pay attention to the details to make your stay as comfortable as possible and continuously invest in our properties to keep maintaining and improving them, year after year.
We decorate the cabin for the different seasons, including holiday decorations featuring a gorgeous 9' Sugarlands Spruce from Balsam Hill (inspired by evergreens that thrive in the Tennessee mountains).
Entering the spacious foyer, youll face the massive staircase and the huge picture windows which open onto your own private view of the mountains. In the living room with its high cathedral ceilings, the large logs and beams create a sense of spaciousness. You will find lots of big comfy living furniture facing the stacked stone fireplace in the large spacious room for gathering your whole group. A new 70" flat-screen TV is placed above the log beam mantel.
Just off the large living room is a spacious kitchen with all modern appliances: microwave, Vitamix Pro 750 blender with individual smoothie cup addon, KitchenAid assistant, double toasters, panini grill, waffle maker, double function coffee machine for drip brewing and Keurig pods, Crock-Pot, etc. The kitchen has basic supplies, including spices and multiple sets of salt and pepper grinders. There are plenty of high-quality plates, dishes, cups, and glasses even for the largest groups. The beautiful flatware is American designed and American made. The kitchen has large counters, as well as a work island with a bar and extra seating. Well-lit and with a practical floor plan for preparing meals and cleaning up, the kitchen is so beautiful you will really enjoy the time you spend there. A second fridge is located downstairs.
Adjacent to the kitchen and through the beautifully carved log arch is a large dining area with customizable seating: 10 at one long table, two tables which can seat four each, and five stools at the kitchen island for a total seating capacity of 23 altogether in one room.
There are two large, covered decks just off the kitchen, on either side of the large dining area. One has a large double gas grill with plenty of space for the meal preparers and supervisors. The other deck, also covered, has outdoor tables and chairs for those who would like to enjoy their meal outdoors gazing at the Smoky Mountains.
The master bedroom suite on the main floor enjoys a splendid view of the mountains, beautiful furnishings, a spacious bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, walk-in shower, large walk-in closet, and a flat-screen TV.
At the top of the grand staircase, you realize anew just how impressive the view is from your cabin. The loft area is well appointed and designed for fun and relaxation. You can watch TV, revel in the spectacular beauty out the windows, recline on the comfy couches (which also offer extra sleeping) or join in a game of pool on the beautiful, solid wood pool table. Large logs support your every step.
Upstairs and to the right are two King bedrooms with two full bathrooms in the hall. Both bedrooms are completely private, with flat-screen TVs. One room enjoys the view of the mountains, while the other faces the woods at the front of the house.
The lower level houses the theater room. Plenty of seating on sofas and comfy recliners so everyone can see the big screen. New 82" flat-screen TV, 290+ satellite channels, Bluray/DVD player and a selection of DVDs with our favorite movies. There is also a wet bar, with a fridge and microwave for preparing movie snacks and drinks. Window coverings provide darkness for that matinee showing. Here too the large log construction and wood floors enfold you in the rustic luxury of your custom-built log vacation lodge. An Xbox One X with four controllers and a good selection of sports, party, and family games allow for entertainment for everyone. There are also two multi-game arcade machines that will provide hours of enjoyment for all players.
The lower deck is home to a beautiful eight-person hot tub with an amazing view of the mountains. What an incredible spot for relaxing with friends or family in your own private tub. The covered deck is optimal for enjoying the hot tub no matter what kind of weather. There is also a wrought iron table with seating for 6. Fabulous outdoor living area.
On one side of the theater room is a master king suite that has a private ensuite bath with a shower tub, a large walk-in closet, and a flat-screen TV. Two arcade machines let you relive classic games (placed away from the theater room so that they can be used while others are watching a movie).
On the other side of the theater room are two more bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen-size bed with a twin over queen bunk bed and private ensuite shower bath, ideal for a family with two or three children or just a couple.
Across the hall is another bedroom with a queen-size bed and twin over queen
bunk bed with a full-size hall bathroom with tub shower.
There is a large laundry room with a washer and dryer for your convenience.
The large backyard hosts a beautiful, custom-built wood fire pit for hours of enjoying just sitting and gazing into the fire. Or maybe your group would like to roast hot dogs and then make smores. Wood is not provided (unless a previous guest has left some), but there are plenty of options for buying firewood just down the road.
While we are convinced that you wont want to leave the lodge, it is just a short drive away from Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and the Smoky Mountain National Park. The Greenbriar section of the Smoky Mountain National Park is just four miles away. This is a lesser-known entrance with many beautiful trails, plenty of parking, picnic area, playground, and access to the Pigeon River throughout. Ramsey Cascades is a favorite amongst hikers.
If you would like a workout, just seven miles from this cabin is the beautiful Gatlinburg Community Center a complex with indoor swimming pool, basketball court, ping pong, bowling alley, weight room, and showers, with very reasonable fees for access. Also only five miles away is the Mills Park with a playground for the children, and covered picnic tables for your get-togethers.

Upper Level: 2 King bedrooms, 2 full hall baths, 2 sleeper sofas

Our week stay at the Big Bear Ridge Lodge was WONDERFUL! I did weeks of research looking at ALL large, luxury cabins before I made my selection for our family get away. And since I planned nearly a year in advance so I could get the PERFECT cabin, the wait was unbearable!
Planning for my entire family from 1 - 88 years old, I wanted it to be PERFECT! I wanted the log cabin look with a grand two-story view of the mountains but I also needed a large dining room table that would accommodate 12 people seated at the same table, needed a beautiful fire pit, wanted the hot tub, needed bedrooms and bathrooms so everyone had their own space, must have was a well-maintained kitchen with an island for socializing, another must have was a second refrigerator, also needed a living room so we all would have a place to sit comfortably while playing family games, wanted a remote location for that feeling you were all alone, and also wanted outside dining for brunch and sipping coffee while taking in that morning-mountain air! I finally found everything on my checklist and more at Big Bear Ridge Lodge!
From the moment we booked the cabin, I knew I had found the right place as the owners were very responsive with my inquiries before I had even made my initial deposit. From then on, Markus kept in touch with me from time to time informing me with updates about the cabin since it was months before our stay.
When we finally arrived my entire family was awestruck by the cabin, amenities and the amazing view of Mount LeConte! This week was a gift I gave my family since it is always so hard to get everyone together, so when I shared with them all that Big Bear Lodge offered, I knew that would entice them. Guess what, everyone of them made it! But when they actually seen the cabin in person, they were overwhelmed with Big Bear Ridge Lodge!
We were all very comfortable during our weeks stay and we made so many memories our family will always cherish including celebrating my mom’s 88th birthday together! And the view of the sky at night is amazing; we planned our trip around the Perseids Meteor Showers which was amazing to see in darkness of the cabin’s night-sky! We even seen a bear! He walked right through our yard and everyone seen him with all the windows the cabin offers! It was a week my family we will always cherish.
The owners were in touch to make sure we were comfortable and always let me know they were available if we needed anything. Super hosts! Amazing, luxury cabin!
This is a Beautiful Property with Stunning views. The house is Amazing and is secluded. No real neighbors to see. It has comfortable beds, full kitchen supplies and all the amenities to keep kids and adults busy. A short trip to the entrance of Greenbrier and 15 minutes out of Gatlinburg. This is definitely the way to go as the owners invest their time and money checking on your needs and keep reinvesting into the home. An absolutely Beautiful Vacation rental for small or large groups. Thanks to the owner!
Amazing house with great views and amenities! My family had an amazing time and will forever cherish the memories created here. There was something for everyone to enjoy and all amenities were clean and up to date. Very spacious and equipped with everything you might need. Communication with the owner, Markus, was exceptional. He was very responsive and helpful with everything - definitely went above and beyond to ensure a great stay. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Wonderful property!!! We have been to Gatlinburg at least 5 times and by far the best property we have ever stayed in! Thank you for making our family vacation very special and memorable!
Really wonderful place in a wonderful location. The views are spectacular & the property is unbelievable. The owners are also awesome. Wonderful place for families with grown kids & extended families. Truly amazing experience!
This is our go to cabin for our family from now on. No need to look further. Owner Markus was spectacular and helped equip the cabin with board games due to a longer than expected to stay at this property. I have rented numerous 5 Star properties In the past. This property is #1 on the list. Camp fires every night and the theatre room is professional quality!! Thank you Markus for the hospitality. Brad
Great for far families
Our family recently got some unfortunate news regarding my father's health, and one of the only things he wanted to do was visit a cabin in the mountains. We rented this cabin expecting a great trip and it surpassed our expectations. Our family of 17, who hadn't been on a trip together in 20 + years, were comfortable and could not have enjoyed our trip more. The house was spacious and very accommodating. The pool table, arcade games and theater room were great for the kids; while a fire in the fire pit for smores and the Jacuzzi was a great end to the day for everyone. The host checked in our us daily and answered any questions I had, even while he was out of the country. If I could leave more than 5 stars I would. Our family looks forward to more memories and hopefully staying in this cabin again in the future. A++
This was an amazing place to stay and looked even better than pictured. We had a family reunion here and it was the perfect set-up for all of us - extremely spacious, clean, had so many great amenities, and was a quick drive to many attractions. Hosts were also super accommodating and quick to respond. Will definitely look to stay again next time we're in Gatlinburg.
Had a good time.
