Secluded Cabin in mature woods, within feet of the Park! On 10 private acres and just a short walk to Greenbrier Creek coming out of the park, that flows into (about 1 mile) Cosby Creek that is stocked with trout. Fishing is OK without a license on site. Cabin is furnished, full size stove/oven, fridge, coffee maker, micro, tub/shower combo in bathroom, queen bed upstairs (spiraling staircase not suited for those with mobility problems). It has it`s own fire pit, picnic tbl., hammock and BBQ grill. Located in Cosby, Tn. A little unincorporated, rural community just 17 miles NE of Gatlinburg. There are two, separate, common areas on the creek with picnic tbl., hammock and fire pit for your enjoyment! The scenic, mountain, relatively undeveloped, no red light drive in to Gatlinburg takes 20-25 min. About 40-45 min. to drive into Pigeon Forge/Dollywood or Sevierville. private road circles the interior of the property through the woods and flower vegetable garden area. We have a less traveled entrance into the park just 3 miles The Cosby Trailhead Campground Entrance. There are 7 restaurants, one, highly recommended Carvers Apple House, 2 Dollar General stores within a 5 mile radius and a Wal Mart 15 miles (20 min.) in a small,, non tourist town, Newport, Tn. For those who might have interest in Western N.C., Maggie Valley, Cherokee, Hot Springs, Waynesville is only 45 min. and Ashville/Biltmore is 1hr. 10 min. Interstate I-40 is only 8 miles from us, 6 miles over the mountain, through the park, with scenic overlooks, via The Foothills Parkway. Perfect location to enjoy the Great Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee or Western North Carolina without having to change lodging!

Cozy Cabin in the woods

This little cabin was fine for my husband and I. The weather was WET but we stayed good and dry and warm. The location was not hard to get to. Everything you might need is relatively easy to get to. Thank you so much.

Cabin in the Woods

Exactly what we were looking for, great escape from the city, very quiet, surprisingly spacious, the dog loved it, friendly staff, driving distance to Gatlinburg. Amazing stay! *****

Cute little cabin

Kind of a cross between my great grandparents house with the hobbit's house. We enjoyed our stay!!!

Cabin in the woods.

This was a nice old cabin in the woods. We very much enjoyed this place. No frills here, but had everything we needed.

Secluded Forest Cabin

I’m in love with this place! Rustic, secluded, verdant. It looks EXACTLY like the picture shown. As far as upkeep, I found the place well-cleaned, with plenty of supplies to take care of the messes my daughter and I tracked in. It’s tiny, so I could sweep and wipe up in about ten minutes, a welcome change from my usual routine in a much larger house. The gravel path does well to keep the dirt out of the house, but it still followed us in. A lot of poison ivy in the surrounding woods (in July), so unless you know how to identify it, do not go off the cleared areas.

Little things - no spider webs or wasps nests on the building, so someone is keeping that clear. A lot of bugs. If you are afraid of spiders, moths, beetles, what-have-you, this might not be your place. A few will sneak in when you open the door, and they congregate on the porch after dark if you leave the light on. Especially daddy long legs. I don’t mind bugs, and the place has a fly swatter, so I was fine.

The kitchen is stocked well with pots, pans, and cooking tools, though it has obviously suffered from light fingered guests. Two spoons? Two mugs? I guess most people bring paper plates and the like. No table inside, but the cute dinette outside worked well. The picnic table was soggy from rain. I wish there was a second stool at the counter inside. I stood, and my daughter sat.

The AC is loud. Being from Florida, I am super-attuned to that “musty” smell, and the weather was very damp during our visit. Since I didn’t suffer any respiratory issues during my stay, I’m chalking it up to life in the woods. With a fan, I would’ve done without the AC and left the windows open (upstairs only - I wouldn’t want to wake up to an adventurous bear downstairs in the middle of the night).

Someone mentioned garbage bags. I produced one small grocery bag of garbage a day, so the tiny can under the sink served me well. Paper plate users might need to supply their own tall kitchen size. I walked my bag up to the bear-safe trash cage (!) a few yards up the road each morning.

The creek is nearby but not adjacent to the cabin. The walk isn’t far, but a little convoluted. You have to walk up to the gallery, around the side of the house and down a little side path. The way is clear and accessible if you don’t have any physical impairments. We enjoyed climbing the rocks in the stream.
